Choosing a Nicotine Strength
What nicotine strength should I be using?
This is a question that arises again and again, one which some chose to not even take into consideration and others that remain very unsure of as a whole. We are here to help you with this decision.
Deciding what nicotine strength to use is a very big decision, especially depending on what type of vaper you are as this can vary from person to person. Nicotine is obviously a very addictive substance, hence why people find it so hard to quit smoking. It affects people differently, either by elevating mood or creating a sense of calm or even greater awareness.
In e-liquids, nicotine strengths can vary. The alternate strengths which they are produced in range from 0mg (zero nicotine), 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg and 24mg (high-level nicotine). Generally, your nicotine strength is managed on the basis of whether you are an ex-smoker and what device you have, e.g. standard or sub-ohm.
Most people assume that the higher nicotine levels are for ex-smokers so that they can attempt to recreate their smoking experience. This is not the case. Vaping is entirely different to smoking despite it being created to ween us off cigarettes. Vaping works in the same way a cigarette does but only by keeping our hands busy. It Is a similar act but by no means the same experience. Vaping does, however, give you a similar hit. If you are looking to work your way off a smoking addiction, you should try smoking a medium strength nicotine and reduce your levels over time.
Nicotine provides a lot of the flavour strength in our e-liquids but also creates a greater throat hit. If that’s what you want, go for a high level, although, this is where the risk of addiction can be greater. For sub-ohm vapers, it is better to use low strengths as the vaping experience can be more intense from the sub-ohm device.
If you are a heavy vaper, it is definitely better to use low strength as this will reduce your addiction. It is very easy to abuse vaping as we tend to believe that it is better for us than smoking. The truth is that the dangers of vaping are yet to be discovered but all-in-all, vaping is a whole lot better than smoking. Be cautious with your nicotine and vaping and your experience can be a good one.
